I am a 29 year old female PhD student at Oregon State University studying machine learning. I am also an NSF IGERT Ecosystem Informatics Fellow. This fellowship allows me the resources and flexibility to explore the ability of machine learning to improve and/or assist in ecological research.
I live in Corvallis, Oregon with my two 4-legged children (Henri T. Cat and Quinn, The Bestus Doggus). When I am not in school I enjoy photography, food, literature and the outdoors.
I married that Australian gentleman, Peter Griffioen, who appears in many of my blog entries and moved to Melbourne in July 2010. Sadly I had to leave my 4-legged kids behind in Oregon but they have lovely families. Quinn is living with my mother and Henri has a new home with two amazing Dads, Chris & Andrew. I love Australia and hope to share that somewhat through this blog.
